ACE Foundation Spotlight: Science Rendezvous 2024

We’re proud to share that in May 2024, the ACE Foundation participated in Science Rendezvous at Ontario Tech University, where students from our affiliated programs led an eye-catching showcase of creative and technical projects.

Featured Projects Include:

–

–

• A functional wind turbine model
• A kinetic robot powered by motion energy
• A working drawbridge based on a pulley system
• A student-designed video game using the same engine used to build Fortnite
• An educational model of the anatomy of the sun
• A rocket powered by light and alcohol-based propulsion

Their exhibits sparked conversations not only about science, but about access, representation, and the limitless potential of youth when given the chance to thrive. With each presentation, these students challenged outdated narratives and redefined what innovation looks like in underrepresented communities. The ACE Foundation’s presence at Science Rendezvous wasn’t just a showcase—it was a statement: brilliance lives in every corner of our communities, and it’s time the world took notice. This showcase reflected the spirit of innovation and experimentation deeply embedded in our work at the Community Grow Lab—and shows how our students are already shaping the future of green design, tech, and engineering expression.
